Warm Coats and Shoes Mission
This mission project came about due to the love that one adopted child had for the friends that she left behind in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Anna was adopted in 2004 and prays continually for her friends. She prays that they will find families, that they will have enough food, be safe, and have warm clothing in the winter. She feels such compassion and hurts for the needs of these children. She brought her prayer requests to her youth group at Champion Fellowship Church. After hearing the concern she had for them the youth group decided to have a car wash and bake sale to raise money to buy coats and warm shoes for these children.
The youth group's goal was to provide for 12-24 children. God had a much bigger plan! The car wash raised enough money to buy these items for 75 children!
The car wash has been held annually since then, and the efforts continue to be a success!
Following the 2008 fundraiser, sweatshirts, in addition to the jackets, were purchased for the children. Here are some photos of the kids in these new clothes:

Here is a quote and photo from a recent email with an update on Kelly,
"SHE ALSO SAYS NO TRACE OF MY CROSSED EYE AND SHE SAID SHE IS GLAD NO ONE CALLED HER CROSSED EYES. I HAVE BEEN TELLING HER PEOPLE ARE PRAYING FOR HER. I TOLD HER A CHILD FROM OTHER ORPHANAGE WILL BE HAVING A SIMILAR EYE OPERATION AND SHE ASKED ME TO GO WITH ME."
