Here I Am Orphan Ministries is excited to announce that we will be returning with a team of 18 to El Salvador in August. With the board members and ministry friends who have traveled to El Salvador previously with HIAOM who know the country well, we are excited to travel and minister to seven different orphanages throughout the country. While in El Salvador we will present the children with a Bible lesson, do crafts, play outdoor games, provide some humanitarian aid and provide a hot dog lunch - which is a big treat.
The orphanages that we will visit are:
Centro de Educacion Especial in San Martin
Hogar Reina Sofia in San Martin
Hogar Inmaculado in Sonsonate
Hogar de la Nina in Sonsonate
Hogar de la Nina “San Jose” in Aguachapan
Hogar de la Nina “Moraga” in Santa Ana
Hogar del Nino in San Salvador
The cost of the trip has been set at $1,100. This includes the cost of the airfare, lodging, meals, and incountry transportation. We will hold a team meeting on July 17, 2010 at the HIAOM Board Room at 9:00am. All team members are required to attend this important meeting. Listed below are the important dates for this trip.
May 1, 2010 - 25% of trip cost is due.
May 28, 2010 - 50% of the trip cost is due.
June 30, 2010 - 75% of trip cost is due.
July 17, 2010 - Mandatory Team Meeting and 100% of trip cost is due.

If you are planning to attend any trip, here is what you need to do:
1. Complete the online Mission Trip Application, and submit a $25 application fee (payable online or by mail). The fee will be held until your application is accepted. In the event that the application is not accepted or the project is canceled, the fee will be returned. Once your application is accepted, you will be placed on the short-term team and the fee is non-refundable.

2. Once you receive notification that your application has been accepted, we will send you an information packet. It contains all your trip information and there are a series of forms for you to complete. You will need to complete the forms that are in your packet as well as these two online forms:

3. Along with your information packet, we will send you a copy of the book Fields of the Fatherless by Tom Davis, and we ask that you read it before we leave on the trip. At the team planning meeting we'll discuss aspects of working with orphans, and this book is an excellent introduction to how we serve as the hands and feet of Christ when ministering to orphans. If you already own or have read Fields of the Fatherless, let us know in your mission trip application, and we will instead send you Tom Davis' new release, Red Letters: Living a Faith That Bleeds. It is full of personal challenges from God's Word, and will also bring up excellent discussion topics for the group.
